The Co-op is hosting its first family style sit-down dinner Sunday March 21. The menu features delicious dishes made with in-season ingredients found right here in the store: Spring salad, maple-glazed salmon and vegetables, and a fresh fruit phyllo nest dessert. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Reservations are available for 25 people, so make yours today! The cost is $22 per person; please make your payment in advance to reserve your spot and allow us to plan properly. Contact the staff at the store or by e-mail for more information. Enjoy a great meal at the Co-op with your family and friends!
You may have noticed that we’re re-arranging some areas of the store this week. We are expanding the seating area in preparation for new lunch and dinner options. Soon you’ll be able to have made-to-order sandwiches from the Co-op kitchen. Right now you can try the new stir-fry in the grab n’ go area. Tell us what you think!
The Co-op is proud to offer catering services for your next gathering. We create beautiful displays of the season’s finest local and organic fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and all-natural meats. Check out our catering menu, and call 877-0947 to let the Co-op cater your next event.
Your grocery Co-op celebrates a couple of birthdays during March. We opened our doors 2 years ago March 1. And last year, we held a re-launch party in the middle of the month.
The co-op continues to survive, eking out day to day. We thank you for all of your continued support over the past few years. We’ve come a long way, and we have a ways to go before becoming completely sustainable. Please support your co-op with your shopping dollars, bring a friend in for a cup of coffee and share with them what you like about the Co-op.
Help us spread the word about this little gem that we have right here in Stoughton. Thank you!
Beer o’ the Month: StoutsThis month the Co-op is featuring two types of Stout this month: Dry Irish and Russian Imperial:
Take 25 cents off a six-pack of these three beers, from March 5 through March 18.
Learn more here, plus we’ll be sampling these great stouts from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 13
This store survives not only because of the incredibly hardworking and talented staff, but because of the volunteers who lend a hand as well! We are looking for people who can work a few regular hours each week. Click here for a list of "jobs" for volunteers.
A particular need is for someone to help unload the large grocery delivery on Wednesdays (late morning to early afternoon). And we can always use people to assist in the kitchen, cleaning, stocking shelves and keeping the store looking great. Please contact Jeanine at 877-0947 or by email.
As we plan for future events at the store (see the familiy dinner story), we are looking for dinner plates, silverware and serving dishes. If you have any of these that you would like to contribute to the store, we would be grateful!
Marlene Widra, who volunteers in the Co-op’s kitchen, is teaching a cooking class at All Through the House April 9. You’ll learn how to make baked tofu – one of Marlene’s specialties – during the “Friday Healthy Lunch Cooking Series” which runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and includes lunch. Click here to learn more.
