Giving back

The Yahara River Grocery Cooperative believes in giving back to the community. Our mission statement stresses helping grow a community of healthy individuals and a vigorous local economy. To do this we maintain a commitment to sponsoring or co-sponsoring community events and initiatives such as SNAP (Stoughton Non-Profit Assistance Program).

The most direct outcome of this policy is that far more of your dollars spent at the YRGC stay in the community as opposed to money spent at a chain store. But we're just not talking about money. By maintaining a strong community presence, we hope to infuse the entire community with the cooperative spirit and making everyone's lives a little better.

Two popular events sponsored by the Co-op are the Dickens of a Run & Walk (above) and the Viking Chili Bowl (below).
