YRGC recently contacted our fellow Co-op friends at the Chequamegon Food Co-op in Ashland to find out how their community is doing since the flood on July 11, when areas near there received nearly a foot of rain in 24 hours. They tell us that things in Ashland are stable but that one of their local farmers (River Road Farm) has lost nearly all of this year’s crop, and several other producers and neighbors are struggling. They say that the amount of devastation is unreal. There is a general fund for the entire Chequamegon area community as well as a GoFundMe campaign for River Road Farm.
